Mr Joseph Paddy, Chairman for the Abossey Okai Auto Part Dealers Association, has warned Ghanaians, particularly the media to be wary of people who claim to be members of the association and therefore speak on its behalf.
Addressing a well attended press conference in Accra yesterday, he said the attention of the association has been drawn to some “unscrupulous person who is moving from one radio station to the other claiming to be the Chairman of a body in the main association.”
Although Mr Paddy could not mention any name, he insisted that his outfit would not hesitate to handover such people to the police if they get hold of anybody.
According to the Chairman, the said imposter claims to be financing the construction of the main Abossey Okai road, which is in deplorable state.
Mr Paddy averred that President Mills during a visit to the area promised the association it was going to make sure the road was put in a proper shape.
Continuing, he alleged that the same imposter was accusing traders who ply their trade on tables in the market most of their parts are of low standards.
“We are therefore stating emphatically that we the Abossey Okai spare parts dealers associations does not have any other association apart from the mother association and anyone who is acting as the Chairman of the sub association should desist from it or incur our wrath.
Mr Paddy, however, appealed to the media to contact the office of the mother association for interviews or clarifications on issues.
Against that background, he seized the chance to advise members of the association to cooperate with constructors, who would begin the construction of the road from Sunday 8th August, 2010.
