NPP guru defiles girl, 13

abuseThe Asokore Police in Ashanti Region are seriously searching for a former chairman of the Effiduase branch of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl in a classroom.

Nana Afram Agyeman, the former NPP Chairman of Effiduase, is alleged to have lured a young girl (name withheld) into one of the classrooms of Effiduase T.I. Ahmadiya Primary School and slept with her.

A brother of the victim, Kweku Boateng, who reported the matter to the Asokore police on Monday night, said following a tip-off from a friend he caught them right in the act in the classroom at about half past 7 in the evening.

Kweku Boateng is said to have expressed surprise at the action of the over 70-year-old husband of two, who could not control his libido or even call for any of his wives, but unleashed it on his poor sister.

Sources say immediately the report was lodged at the police station, the Asokore police went to the suspect’s house to arrest him but were told he had traveled outside the region.

The Effiduase district police commander in an interview with this reporter confirmed there had been a report on the alleged act by the former NPP chairman but declined to comment except to say “it was only an allegation at this point”.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Charles Koosono said they had been to his house a couple of times, but were told Mr Agyeman had traveled and they could not do much until the family of the victim produced a doctor’s report confirming the incident.

Meanwhile, impeccable source in the community have told this reporter that the young girl was not the only victim of the former NPP chairman, further alleging that he easily gets away each time he was ‘caught’ for haven defiled a young girl.

“This same man has defiled about two teenagers already that are the ones I know and his family would always plead for a settlement at home and then they go and pay millions of money to the family of the victim”, a source told this reporter.

The source stated that Nana Afram Agyeman had not traveled to Accra but was still in his room in Effiduase but was being protected by his family, an act, he noted, was usual of them whenever such issues cropped up.

This reporter tried several times to ascertain the truth or otherwise of the information but all his efforts hit the rocks as Nana Agyeman only picked his calls but would not talk, and eventually cut the call.

Not even an SMS text message sent to his phone seeking a confirmation or a denial of the allegation was replied.
