Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo–Addo

One of the  presidential aspirants  of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa  Akufo–Addo, on Tuesday called on party supporters to unite and support anybody who  would emerge victorious as the flag bearer of the party for the 2012 election to enable the party take its rightful position.

Nana said unity was the vital element if the party is to come back to power.

“I therefore urge all party members to support the person who would be chosen in the August 7 presidential primaries”, Akufo-Addo said.

He made the call when addressed party delegates in the Odododioodioo Constituency of NPP as part of his campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region.

According to him, the party lost the 2008 election due to divisions and factions in the party and urged his opponents to help bring unity into the party to enable the NPP wrestle power from the ruling NDC.

“People are crying for NPP to come and save them from the hardship that the NDC government has put them through and they know that the best person to do that is Nana Akuffo Addo”, he expressed.

He continued that the NDC government has destroyed all the good policies and initiatives ex-President Kufuor left behind including the schooling feeding programme, the National Youth Employment Programme.

Nana Akufo-Addo assured party faithful and Ghanaians that when given the mandate as Ghana’s president he would get all these initiatives back on track.

For his part, MP for Atwima Mponua Constituency, Hon Isaac Asiamah, urged party supporters to vote for someone who can lead the party to victory in 2012.

He appealed to the delegates to the elect Nana Akufo-Addo since he has marketed himself already and can overcome his opponents in the 2012 election.
