Isaac Osei
A flag bearer aspirant of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Isaac Osei, has begun his Ashanti Regional tour to canvass for votes from delegates in the region.
Hon. Osei who is also the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin constituency opened his campaign tour of the region with a meeting with delegates of his own constituency where he outlined his vision for the presidency should he be voted to lead the party and subsequently win the 2012 general elections.
He mentioned rural development, agriculture, establishment of a women empowerment fund, and establishment of skills development centre for the youth as his main vision for the nation should he be voted for.
‘Bosheba,’ as he is fondly called reiterated the need for the NPP to recapture the seat of governance as the Prof. Mills led NDC government knew very less about economics hence was throwing the economy into doldrums.
Commending ex-President John Kufuor, Hon. Osei noted that the NDC was only playing propaganda with the governance of the state as they could really not improve upon ‘our economy’.
“If they sack people they perceive to be loyalists of NPP and push their people there, they say they have established 1600 jobs in six months, where are the jobs”, he pointed out.
Mr Osei called for unity among his party members without which, he noted, the NPP could never win power from the NDC.
The soft-speaking but firm looking MP described as unfortunate the way some followers of his colleague aspirants made misguided remarks about each other that could bring the reputation of their own people into disrepute.
“Whoever wins this race is the one we shall present for the 2012 election, but how do we send someone whom you have made several disparaging remarks about to face the NDC, they will even use it against us”, he stated.
“As for me, I will not hesitate to deal with any of my followers who make similar remarks about any other candidate. This is only a family affair and we must not do anything that will seriously affect us in future”, he passionately assured.
Describing himself as the unifier in the NPP race, Mr Osei said the other contenders were qualified to be winners but asked the delegates to vote for him since he was the only one who could perfectly unite the party for victory 2012.
