Somovision donates TV…To Kingsley House of Achimota SHS

In line with its corporate social responsibility, Somovision, a leading electronic company in the country has through the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Kingsley House of Achimota Senior High School donated a 29-inch LCD colour television set to Kingsley House.

The presentation was done by Mr Charles Otoo, an executive member of the Kinsgley House PTA of Achimota High School and also the General Manager of First National Saving Loans Company Limited.

Mr Otoo said the gesture was in fulfillment of a pledge the PTA made during its last meeting to provide Kingsley house with a TV set to enable students watch matches of the ongoing World Cup in South Africa.

“We are here this afternoon to fulfill the promise we made after our last meeting to make available a TV set to enable you enjoy the world cup. Although it is ongoing, there are still more interesting matches for you to enjoy,” Mr Otoo noted.

In her acceptance speech the prefect of Kingsley house, Abigail Sarbah thanked the PTA and Somovision for what she described as a “marvelous gesture” and urged other corporate organizations to emulate the exemplary show of Somovision.

“They made a promise to us and they have fulfill it. We are extremely happy that at least we are also going to watch our Black Stars conquer the world. For Somovision we say Ayeeko”, Miss Sarbah noted.

The house mistress of Kingsley House, Mrs Joyce Acolatse advised the student not to solely watch the world cup matches at the expense of their studies since in her opinion, the academic work of the students was equally important. .

“This is not to stop you from taking your academic work serious; you have to also be mindful of the fact that you will be held academically accountable at the end of the term,” Mrs Acolatse cautioned.
