Kajanya set agog…As PIWC youth fetes children

The people of Kajanya in the Kasseh-Ada District of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana have expressed their profound gratitude to God and the entire membership of the church of Pentecost for the kind gesture shown them.

This awe-inspiring joy followed a visit by the youth ministry of the Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC), Tema, to the village last Saturday.

People-recieving-free-drugsThe Youth Leader, Alex Larbi-Mensah, who spoke to this reporter, disclosed that as part of the church’s social obligations to the good people of this country, the PIWC -Tema Youth Ministry – visits less privileged towns and villages to share fellowship and also donate some items to them annually and this year it was the turn of the people of Kajanya.

As part of the activities marking the event, there was free medical screening and care delivery by the medical students from Korle-Bu.

There also was free eye screening, which was conducted by the optical theme, from the Tema Christian eye centre.

In all131 people received medical screening and drugs while over 71 others received free eye screening and medicines.

The PIWC-Tema Youth Ministry also donated 2 bicycles and thousands of both new and used clothings to the people.

Receiving the items, Overseer Christian Tsekpoe – the District Pastor – thanked the entire leadership as well as the membership of the PIWC, Tema, for such a wonderful act.

He said the Kajanya district of the Church of Pentecost has only one bicycle which serves the whole district.

“The people we send out as missionaries to the other villages within the district usually have to struggle over that single bicycle; so we are really happy to have two more in addition.”

Other people who also spoke to this reporter stated how happy they and their families were since they couldn’t tell when last they visited a hospital or clinic or even the pharmacy shop.

Madam Juliana Norkweh said, “I thank God and this people for everything they have done for us today. They have come all the way from Tema to visit us; we are privileged to have them.

She continued “I don’t remember when last I went to visit the doctor. Not because I don’t want to, but the means to send me there isn’t readily available.

But today my entire household has had free medical care, food and we are waiting for our share of the clothing,” she said.

Mr Jordan Amobadze also told this reporter “I wish this day will never end because what is happening today is simply unbelievable. We thank the donors so much,” said Mr Amobadze.

The group ended the day with house-to-house evangelism in the afternoon and outdoor rally/film show in the evening and won 42 souls for Christ.
