New VIP buses in town

Unowaj Transport Company, managers of Very Important Personality (VIP) buses, has taken delivery of 23 new buses.

The buses which come with state-of the-art facilities are expected to operate from Accra-Kumasi with the aim of facilitating travelling comfort.

The unowaj company which operates the V.I.P. bus terminal at the Neoplan station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra was formed by four friends led by Mr Yaw Amponsah Marfo also known as ‘Wiase.’

Mr Amponsah Marfo, a shareholder of Unowaj Company speaking at the launch said it has always been their dream to operate such a bus terminal in order to make travelling easy and affordable.

According to him, this dream has been a reality through the help of Cal Bank which has been financing most of its operations.

He said Cal Bank is a very dependable bank advising Ghanaian businessmen and women to do business with the bank.

Cal Bank, Mr Amponsah disclosed, has helped them to purchase thirty-six (36) buses valued at $5m since the time Unowaj started operations four years ago.

He said “without Cal Bank, they would not have been where they are now which has also helped them to offer job opportunities to Ghanaians.

“One of our aims is to provide job opportunities in the country and also challenge the State Transport Corporation (STC) in their services offered to customers,” he stated.
