Students of the Ghana Baptist University College (GBUC) in Kumasi have openly endorsed Mrs Grace Acheampong, a level 300 student and current SRC Vice President as their next SRC President.
Presenting her manifesto to the students at the premises of the school, the students cheered her on and welcomed her idea of introducing a ‘Meet-the-President’ series every semester to take students’ complaints and find ways of solving them.

She said she was convinced that the session, if introduced, would afford several of her colleagues the opportunity to share ideas directly with the school authorities.
In an interview with Today, Grace who is contesting with major contenders like Richard Quarshie, also a level 300 student said she had a good vision for the university.
According to her, she has helped the current SRC in many diverse ways, adding that it is time for her to ‘finish up’ and help the university move to a different level.
With her campaign slogan: ‘Be involved,’ the first female gunning for the SRC presidency in the rather young tertiary institution, was hopeful she would win the race.
“It was because they believed that a woman can also do it that’s why they voted for me as vice president; so haven been vice president for a year I have had enough experience and knowledge about student leadership and they know that very well, that’s why they will vote for me,” she confidently expressed.
“It is high time students registration was held online in such a technological age. It would be more efficient and effective and time saving for corporate GBUC just as it has been the case of KNUST,” she added.
Most of the students, who spoke to Today, commended her and gave the assurance that they will vote massively for her.
