Ghana to have more power cuts
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disclosed that it has encountered problems in its electrical systems hence Ghanaians would have to cope with the current load-shedding exercise until the problem is duly rectified.

Oteng-Adjei, Energy Minister
Mr Tetteh Okai, Operations Director for the ECG, who made this known on Peace Fm in Accra, said the load-shedding exercise will persist till next year when some electrical machines would be replaced and new ones acquired.
According to him, almost the greater part of the machines that help to supply power to various homes are now obsolete and others have developed faults which do not function properly.
“Yes we are all praying that by the end of this year, all the machines that are faulty will be repaired and new ones acquired.
…Transformers have been overloaded due to the increase in number of people in the city in recent times. These transformers have developed faults because they are over-loaded as a result of the influx of people who come to settle in the city,” he reiterated.
He appealed to all customers to exercise patience and cope with the situation while they give ECG time to rectify the faults.
“Yes, we aware that people are complaining about the load-shedding and intermittent power outages which sometimes damage their gadgets for business but it is through no fault of ours that we are doing this so we all need to cope with it,” he maintained.
