ATINGA BIO SLAMS KOFI JUMAH, RANDY ABBEY

The Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Rose Bio Atinga, has through his husband Nana Kofi Omane, taken the Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa East Constituency, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, to the cleaners describing him as a ‘pathological narcissist’ who has no ounce of respect for his elders.

In a statement put together on behalf of the police commander and sent to the office of Today personally by her husband, the Bios noted that it is high time the ‘reins’ of loose talkers like Kofi Jumah are removed to choke him from passing further unsavoury comments about public servants who have distinguished themselves.

The statement further stressed that Hon. Kofi Jumah is ‘a pathological slanderer’ with an ‘acerbic tongue’ to constantly ridicule people left, right and centre instead of dealing with issues.

“If Kofi Jumah were a horse, this should be the right moment to pull the reins and choke his foul mouth to halt. It is unfortunate that he is gradually carving a niche for himself as “the loose talking dishonourable MP amongst his colleagues,” the statement added.

The one-and-half page statement was in reaction to earlier effusions by Kofi Jumah on Accra-based Peace fm, last week Friday where the MP and Mr Randy Abbey a panelist on the program called for the immediate removal of Mrs Bio Atinga from office.

The Asokwa East legislator on the said radio program described the decision of the Greater Accra Police Command to arrest and arraigned Nana Darkwa Baafi, the man who publicly accused former President Rawlings of deliberately setting his Ridge residence ablaze as juvenile and a careless move by the police officers.

On that score, the statement called on the leadership of Parliament to, in the interest of the party and the nation, call Kofi Jumah to order since his utterances are gradually carving a notorious name for himself and the party he represents.

“He should not be the proverbial single bad nut of the opposition in Parliament that spoils the good image of the entire soup of the opposition in the august house,” it asserted, adding that “look at the pot calling the kettle black Et tu Brutus.”

The statement reiterated that Kofi Jumah who is popularly referred to as Kofi Ghana cannot hide behind the cloak of radio programs and discussions to drag her name into the mad thereby challenging the latter to tell the public what he was able to  achieve when he was the mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

Turning the heat on Randy Abbey, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Bios challenged him to answer the numerous queries sports fans have raised against him, arguing that utterances of such characters should be considered as garbage.

Mr Abbey also echoed the views of Hon. Kofi Jumah and described the action of the police commander as a way of satisfying her bloated ego and to convince her superiors that she was indeed capable of doing the job.

“To say the least, the action of DCOP Atinga to arrest the young man (Nana Darkwa) was to just satisfy whoever put her there, but I think for this one she had it wrong,” Randy Abbey asserted on the program.

Against that background, the statement said it is rather Randy Abbey who should be removed or voted out as the spokesperson of the GFA for the reason that he [Randy Abbey] has consciously or unconsciously drawn the name of GFA into the mud by wading into matters that do not concern the position he occupies.

“And how can such a discredited person call himself as the spokesperson of a whole institution like GFA,” the statement noted.
