‘There was fraud at NPP congress’
Dr Charles Wereko Brobby, a defeated aspiring Chairman of the NPP, who had only 29 votes, has stated that there was fraud at the NPP congress where candidates openly paid for positions.
He said some contestants gave out monies in order to buy votes which did not ensure free and fair elections.

“I was not surprised to have had only 29 votes because I did not have money to buy votes for an election that was supposed to be free and fair,” he lamented.
Mr Wereko Brobby was speaking on Peace FM, an Accra based radio station.
He advised Ghanaian voters not to sell their conscience and intuitions for money which according to him did not show maturity in the country’s democratic dispensation.
“Yes I have evidence to prove every bit of my word here that people paid for votes at the NPP congress and there is no way that I am going to deny that because it is the plain truth,” he emphasized.
He said though he had crushed out of the chairmanship race, there were a whole lot of positions still existing in the NPP like the flag bearership and believed he could stand and win that particular position.
“One thing that I want NPP delegates to take note of is that it should not always be Nana Akufo-Addo and Alan Kyerematen because they are not the only capable persons in the party and I can also do better and move the party forward,” he assured.
