PIJ unveils ultra-modern studio
The founder and Director of Professional Institute of Journalism (PIJ), Mr Eric Nii Odartey Lamptey, has inaugurated a newly constructed ultra-modern studio facility at the school.
According to the director, the new ultra-modern studio began like a mustard seed sown with little hope but has now materialized.
Nii Odartey Lamptey disclosed that PIJ started in September 2008 and runs a year diploma in Journalism and Media Studies and Marketing.
He also said the institution is affiliated with the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) based in UK.
He added that PIJ started officially with one student and within two years the institution has a total population of 61 students and 50 past students.

The director said the idea for the studio was mooted and strongly supported by staff of the institution, especially Mr Michael Kpelih, who is a lecturer and currently the Director of Studies at the institution.
“We focus not only on professional training and qualification but also solid practical training, hence the idea to have a training studio”, the director stated.
Mr Odartey Lamptey called on sympathizers, well wishers and friends of the institute to come to its aid to make another giant step of launching ‘The Students Front’ which is the institution’s newspaper.
He emphasized that the contributions of the teaching staff has made him enjoyed a cordial relationship and commitment to service.
The director advised the entire institute to remain focused and never be disorganized by negative utterances from evil-minded people.
He also advised the continuing students not to resort to violence as a means to settle their differences because violence will only cloud their sense of judgment.
To the outgoing and past students, Mr Lamptey said “never accept to be rated as the second because that will tend to compromise your innate potential to reach the top.”
