As a former Miss Ghana contestant, she burst onto the movie scene with big-screen roles in Princess Tyra and Playboy.

Yvonne Nelson has become one of the big names in the Ghanaian movie industry. After a short hiatus, Yvonne has proved her versatility as an actress by starring in various hit movies like Girls Connection and Crime to Christ.
Following her debut role in Princess Tyra, Yvonne hasn’t faded into obscurity but rather has established her status as a well respected actress. Nelson was recently nominated for the “Best Up and Coming Actress Award” at the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). She has starred in over 20 movies and sites her mother as her biggest inspiration.

“I like watching her movies because I admire the way she dresses and the way she plays smart on men,” Christiana Mandy, a student at IPS told Today.
“I am highly hooked up to Yvonne Nelson movies because I personally admire her long sexy legs and the natural way he acts on the screen,” James Amoako, a banker said.
“For Yvonne Nelson, I can say she is the best actress so far because she is just solid for the job. Whenever you see her on the screen, it would interest you to know that she knows what she is about,” Frank Gyasi, a trader indicated.
