CELESTIAL SCHOOL COMPLEX

SCHOOL PROFILE TODAY this week features Celestial School Complex located at Ashaiman, Official Town in Accra.

The school was established in July 1990 by Mrs Celestine Amago with 50 pupils and some few teachers at Ashaiman Official Town.

Since the establishment of the school, it has achieved a lot in the field of academic work and is still poised for more academic excellence.

The school has about 818 students from the nursery to the junior high school level and over 24 teachers, 3 departmental heads, a secretary and a headmaster.

In an interview with SCHOOL PROFILE TODAY, the Administrator of the school, Mr Harry Amago, disclosed that the school has state-of-the-art facilities such as a security check point, a school bus which takes students to and from school, a science laboratory, computer laboratory and a library where students go to learn during their free periods.

“We have our senior high school which has been approved by the Ghana Education Service (GES) and we also have boarding facilities for students who wish to be boarders and students who travel from long distances,” he said.

He continued that the vision of the school is to become a leading provider of quality education in Ghana.

“It is also our objective to provide quality education for over 100,000 students by the year 2020. Our mission is also geared towards providing quality education to produce brilliant, excellent, self-motivated and self-confident students,” Mr Amago told SCHOOL PROFILE TODAY.

He further revealed that the school had plans to give it an international exposure by admitting foreign students.

“Plans are further advanced to put structures in place to merit that kind of international standard. What is more, we are also planning an exchange program package with some foreign schools as well; so it is a very big project that we envisage in the near future.

Since the school has SHS we also have plans to build a university to enroll the SHS graduates who pass out,” stressed Mr Amago.
