Ghana to host 7th Africa investment forum

The 7th Africa investment meeting which will provide a platform for countries to profile investment opportunities is scheduled to be hosted in Ghana at the Accra international conference centre from 8th-10th February, 2010.

The forum— which is expected to bring together business and government leaders from Rwanda, Europe and North America—would be organized by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and the Commonwealth Business Council (CBC). It is expected to strengthen the business climate in the country.

Mr Antiri of (GIPC) speaking at a press conference in Accra said the event would also offer opportunities for entrepreneurs who seek to establish strong business relations with other foreign business partners.

“This will bring investors and projects together to explore public-private partnerships, and facilitate businesses on the African continent,” he stated.

He added that the forum would go a long way to restore high levels of growth in the face of the global economic crunch.

Mr Antiri further disclosed that CBC investment forum has been hosted by many commonwealth countries and it has now reached the turn of Ghana to show the world “what we have in store for them as far as business opportunities are concerned,” he said.

It was in this direction that he added that the forum would help the country strengthen its trade relations with advanced economies.
