A 49-year-old mason, Kwame Kyereme, who is a native of Abesim in the Brong Ahafo region, last Thursday, January, 21, 2010, met his untimely death when he was allegedly stabbed several times by one Kofi Nkoto following a misunderstanding that ensued between the two.

Kwame Kyereme lies dead on his hospital bed
According to an eye witness who spoke to TODAY, on that fateful day, Kyereme had a misunderstanding with Nkoto because of the loudness of music coming from the drinking spot of Nkoto’s wife which he said was disturbing his sleep.
Kyereme, as a result, called on Nkoto’s wife to reduce the volume of the music, but Mrs Nkoto did not heed to that and instead hurled insults at him several times.
This, according to the eye witness, resulted in a scuffle in which Kyereme was alleged to have handed Nkoto some punches which could even knock down boxers like Azumah Nelson and Oscar De La Hoya in a world title fight.
After the fight, Mr Nkoto was not satisfied and wanted to avenge the beatings he suffered at the hands of Kyereme, but was restrained by the community people who had come over to inquire about what was going on between the two.
On that same day around 7 p.m., Nkoto who was not satisfied with the defeat reportedly sneaked under the cover of darkness to stab Kyereme several times with a sharp knife while he was sleeping on a bench in his room.
Kyereme was then rushed to the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital, but died few hours later. Aside from that, Nkoto is alleged to have also stabbed one, Yaw Oppong, a brother of the deceased when he tried to prevent the latter from inflicting more wounds to his late brother.
Yaw Kyereme was rushed to a nearby clinic and has since been treated and discharged.
TODAY, also gathered that Nkoto is currently at large and is being hunted by the police.
The paper discovered that the alleged murderer was on the police wanted list for many atrocious crimes he had committed at places such as Berekum, Dormaa and Accra.
Kwame Kyereme has since been buried at Abesim.
