Nduom addresses press tomorrow

The push for change in Ghana will continue this month as promised last month by Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, presidential candidate of the Convention people’s Party (CPP) in the 2008 elections.

Last month’s focus was on parliament and some related issues. Interestingly, Mr. Appiah Menka of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) expressed the same concerns raised by Dr. Nduom the same day. The Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms. Hannah Tetteh, also made comments in the Mirror the weekend after to the effect that she left parliament to do other things because the house had no powers  to take decisions for itself. These comments lend credence to Dr. Nduom’s views, which he has held for a very long time and which he made known to Ghanaians when he was campaigning in 2008.

This month, Dr. Nduom will focus on the election of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCE’s). He will quote copiously relevant areas in the 1992 Republican Constitution, An Agenda for Growth and Prosperity, the Ghana Poverty Reduction Strategy 1, and some other documents to support his argument for the need to elect these officers.

The event will be on Tuesday 24th November, 2009 at 10:00 am at the boardroom of the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel.
