Driver whips Policeman

A policeman was mercilessly whipped by a taxi driver at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle last Monday 21st September, 2009 for forcibly pulling him out of his taxi due to a road traffic offence.

An eye witness told TODAY in an interview that the taxi driver failed to abide by a road traffic regulation when he parked his car at a ‘No Parking’ zone.

Paul-Quaye-IGPThat, according to the eye witness, created inconveniences for other road users, and started the brawl between the police officer and the driver.

Continuing, the eye witness said the fight between the policeman and the driver drew a lot of crowd to the scene, some of who chided the driver for his action.

According to the report, the policeman realizing that the driver had flouted the road traffic regulation, ordered him (the driver) to come out of the car. That made the driver very furious and in the process threw the first blow whilst the policeman also replied with a punch.

The two displayed a typical Jet Lee-Kun fu battle at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle which caught the attention of passersby and traders.

The policeman was just unlucky and was cruelly beaten by the driver.

The policeman then called for back-up and the driver was finally arrested for fighting with a police officer and breaking road safety rules.
