NDC THUGS IN HORRIFIC MURDER

Relatives of a 55-year-old man, murdered in cold blood by thugs of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Hwenampori in the Bibiani-Awhiaso-Bekwai District of the Western Region are calling on the president to ensure that the perpetrators of that heinous act are made to face the law.

They also charged the president to show that he is really a father for all Ghanaians and that he does not support the gangsterism being exhibited by some of his followers in the district, and the country as a whole.

At a press conference in Bibiani, wailing relatives of the deceased, Kalala Frafra, who was attacked and brutally assaulted by NDC thugs led by their chairman, Philip Quarcoo, a.k.a. J.J., for not leaving the public toilet facility as his (the deceased’s) boss was instructed by the District Chief Executive (DCE), could not understand why the police had suddenly lost interest in the murder case.

They lamented that Frafra was only employed by someone to be an attendant at the facility and should therefore not have been assaulted to death. “If you want to attack anyone, why don’t you attack the one who claims ownership of the facility, but rather an innocent man who is just trying to get something small to survive,” one of them said.

Kalala Frafra was brutally assaulted to death on the 26th of August, after JJ, an NDC polling station chairman of the community for disobeying him and the DCE’s order to vacate the facility since his boss’ contract had been terminated.

An autopsy report from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital indicated that even though the deceased had some chronic diseases, he died from an assault which occurred o the sad date.

Speaking to TODAY after the press conference the Director of the deceased, John Oduro, Kalala’s boss said he legitimately acquired the facility from the previous District Assembly, claiming an agreement had been signed for that.

He said the facility had been abandoned for several years and was no longer in use since it was seriously dilapidated. The people of Hwenampori were therefore defecating in the bushes and on refuse dumps which he thought was demeaning to his people and decided to go to their aid.

“I went to the District Assembly and there was an agreement that I rehabilitate the facility and take control of it so that I will pay a certain percentage to the assembly each month which I am doing so what they are doing I don’t understand”. He pointed.

Mr. Oduro said he spent a total of 40.3 old Ghana cedis during the rehabilitation which the assembly was aware, adding that there was no stipulated time in the agreement as to when it would end.

He admitted that the deceased attendant of the facility was served with a letter on the letter head of the assembly and signed by the DCE ordering him to vacate the premises because he had terminated his contract. But, he argued, that was not how best the DCE should have gone about the termination since he had an agreement with the assembly and the due process should have been followed.

Mr. Oduro condemned the action of the DCE and NDC functionaries in the district saying they have resulted to assault and intimidation of people perceived to be supporters of the New Patriotic Party in the district. He therefore called on Prof. Mills to ‘call his boy to order’, and called on Nana Akufo Addo and the NPP leadership to help them get justice for Kalala Frafra.

What was disheartening, according to Mr. Oduro was the fact that, JJ, the leader of the thugs that assaulted Kalala was still roaming the streets of Bibiani with his boys with raised shoulders without the police uttering a word to him.

“When the former District Police Commander, DSP Anane Appiah tried causing arrests in this case, the DCE openly hurled insults at him and caused his transferred the next day. The following day he just received his letter of transfer from the district.” Mr. Oduro recalled.
