In-depth investigations by TODAY have uncovered that Point Blank Media Concepts (PBMC), one of the most renowned movie production organizations and producers of the famous TV Series Broad Way, owe some of their actors and actresses to the tune of over GH¢2,000.
These actors and actresses, who featured in the TV series Broad Way, are very enraged that some of them are thinking of taking a legal action against the company if that would compel management to fulfill its contractual obligation.
They disclosed that they have not been paid for over two years now and were ready to do anything at all to express their heartfelt grievances to management.
These movie stars who agreed to speak to TODAY on condition of anonymity contended that they have not been treated fairly by Point Blank Media Concepts since they had agreed in contractual terms with the company.
Checks conducted by the paper revealed that producers of the series after the shots promised to pay them according to the agreement but have since breached their part of the contract.
One of the actors observed that the management of PMBC was acting contrary to what was agreed in the contract.
“This left some of us with no option than to come out public to expose deceitful tactics of PMBC and how they cheat actors and actresses,” an actress bluntly stated.
“We made Broad Way possible to be premiered on air, so I just cannot understand why management put up such attitude that violated the details of our contracts,” lamented an anonymous actor, who featured in Broadway.
“They (referring to the management of PMBC) will tell you there is no money, but as a matter of fact, we had sponsors coming on board to sponsor the TV series; companies and organizations found it very interesting so they came on board to sponsor. So why are they telling us that there is no money?” another irate actress told TODAY.
Broadway was Ghana’s biggest family television soap opera that was completed in September 2007.It was produced by Theophilus Akatugba and directed by John Ezedomie.
