The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ga South Municipal Assembly has categorically stated that he will not tolerate anybody who intends to undermine his efforts in his quest to improve the living standard of the people under the NDC’s “Better Ghana” agenda.

According to him, the issue of complying with the laws governing Metropolitan, Municipal, District Assemblies (MMDAs) is paramount to Professor Atta Mills-led government and it is for this reason that he would not violate any constitutional requirement at the Assembly level in his quest to uplift the status of Ga South Municipal Assembly.
The MCE, Hon. Sherriff Nii Otto Dodoo, explained that there is the need for everybody to comply with all constitutional requirements irrespective of one’s political affiliation to ensure development and growth of the country.
Based on the principles and philosophy of the NDC government to be transparent, he indicated that he will deal with anybody that violates any law governing MMDAs under his leadership as the MCE of Ga South Municipal Assembly.
He stressed that this was to ensure sanity and transparency in the day-to-day activities of the Assembly.
He said he will not tolerate anybody who undermines the government policies of ensuring a better Ghana for all under the President Atta Mills adding that, those who contribute and ensure the implementation of government good policies will be happy working with him.
On the development of the Municipality, Hon. Sherriff Nii Otto Dodoo disclosed that the Municipality has outlined development projects, some of which have already taken-off, and are aimed at improving the living standard of ordinary Ghanaians within Ga South and its environs.
The MCE revealed that based on the agenda which include thematic areas such as job creation, improving infrastructure and good governance among others, the Ga South Municipal Assembly leads in the fishing and farming industry in Ghana.
He disclosed that he was trying to ensure adequate pre-mix fuel for distribution in the fishing areas; farmers get inputs such as fertilizers, and insecticides as well as access roads from their farms to the villages and cities to be able to sell their produce.
On roads, Alhaji Sheriff Nii Otto Dodoo hinted that he is eyeing the re-shaping, regravelling and tarring of the road network in the Municipality.
He also stipulated that the Assembly will collaborate with the police as well as train community watchdog personnel to help fight crime in the communities within the Assembly.
He, therefore, advised all and sundry to cooperate with the Assembly to bring development to the area.
