The 65-year old American paedophile, Patrick Ken Labash, is to appear in court today after the court adjourned his case last Tuesday. Patrick Labash reported sick during last Tuesday’s sitting and was offered time to recover fully to re-appear today.
The reported ill-health of the American compelled the presiding Magistrate Mrs. Lorrenda Owusu to adjourn the case to today.
The Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) reported the behaviour of the American to the Tema Regional Police Command and was arrested on August 29, 2009.
Labash’s arrest followed an official complaint lodged by the Regional Director of the Department of Women and Children Affairs Accra Secretarial during a sensitization program on Domestic Violent Act 732 at Adjomanikope.
Labash was arraigned before court on Monday, 7th September, 2009 and has since been remanded in prison custody.
The American was accordingly, charged with two counts of having unnatural canal knowledge and defilement of eight Ghanaian children made up of two boys and six girls whose ages range from 3 to 12.
The incident took place at the private residence of the American at Adjomanikope at Sege, in the Damgbe District of the Greater Accra Region.
According to the police, Mr. Labash often lures his victims with candies, foods and movies into his rented room, convinces his victims to suck his penis and forces them to swallow his semen after discharging into their mouths.
When the accused was arrested, it was revealed that his computer and personal Nokia 6080 cell phone contained pornographic videos of himself and his victims.
