Ericsson schools journalists

ericsson-logo-israelManagement of the West Africa division of Ericsson Company, as part of efforts to strengthen customer-producer relationship, held a one-day seminar for some selected media practitioners in Ghana to bring to light what the company intends to do in the coming years.

Ms Omassen Ogisi, Senior Consultant to the company, taking the media through some of the products Ericssson plans to come out with disclosed that the company has improved upon its products quality compared to other companies in the world.

According to her, due to the rapid growth of the company in recent times, Ericsson now has forty eight per cent (48%) of the market share, adding, that leaves other companies to jostle for the fifty per cent (52%) left.

“Due to the exceptional growth in the durability of its products, we (Ericsson) in recent have gained a fair share of the market cake. Aside from that, effort is being made to capture some additional customers,” Ms Ogisi said, disclosing that “the 129 years of the company’s existence is no fluke.”

She stressed that the accolade of the company having 48% share of the world market, was contained in a research findings of an independent industry analysts, noting that it was not by the figment of the company’s imagination.

Chinedun Akinora, Manager in charge of Network, for his part said “Ericsson believes that communications is a fundamental human right for every individual and in so doing, we have had to make our products cost efficient for everybody to patronize irrespective of one’s financial standing.”

He added that as technology keeps advancing on daily basis, his outfit would also endeavour to come out with products that will match up to the technological challenges, stressing that plans are afoot to introduce a new product before the end of the year.

Flanked by the Marketing Manager, Mr Olabodi Shome and other management members, Mr Akinora further explained that Ericsson is a separate company, but also went into a joint partnership with Sony which exclusively manufactures phones.

“Ericsson is a different company, but we have jointly formed a partnership with Sony which is known by the name Sony Ericsson and they are into phone manufacturing so we will urge you (referring to the journalists) to educate the public to distinguish between the two companies,” he clarified.

In all, about thirty five journalists were brought together to be enlightened on the company’s operations and challenges.
