Stanbic Bank to sponsor Black Stars

Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Ghanaians to support the Black Stars as they continue their qualification campaign to Angola 2010 African Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010.

Kwesi Nyantakyi made the call at the launch of Stanbic Bank’s ‘Open, Use and Win’ promotion at the Alisa hotel on Tuesday.

Mr Nyantakyi said his outfit has opened its arms to the general public especially to the government and corporate bodies emulate the efforts made by Stanbic Bank to support the Black Stars.

He commended the Bank for its continued support for the Black Stars and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Bank for supporting the Black Stars during the CAN 2008 tournament.

“In this direction, we assure the general public that the GFA will see to it that the black stars is well trained to bring the best out of them to the expectations of Ghanaians,” the GFA President told the gathering.

The Managing Director (MD) of Stanbic Bank Ghana, Mr Alhassan Andani on his part said the Bank was not only aiming at making quick profits from the promotion but to create the right connections for people and also organize and  create more awareness on Angola 2010.

“Stanbic Bank is aware that football is the passion of the nation as it brings the entire continent together and that motivated us to sponsor the senior national team the Black Stars for Ghanaians and soccer pundits to get what they want,” noted Mr. Alhassan Andani.

He said the Open, Use and Win promotion has been introduced to campaign vigorously about the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola for people to know that they are committed to support the Black Stars.

“The campaign is aims at winning new customers as well as to sustain the existing customers in order to be able to support the players,” Mr. Alhassan Andani observed.

He assured GFA that Stanbic Bank will continue to work hard to uphold the financial issues of the footballers.

“The first winner of the promotion would be sponsored to Angola 2010 to watch the football match,” disclosed Mr. Alhassan Andani.

According to the Stanbic Bank MD there will be a regular draw for customers who will participate in the promotion.

“Customers will be receiving prices like pen drives, plasma televisions and many other lip smacking prizes,” Mr. Alhassan Andani pointed out.

Mr Andani announced that Stanbic Bank will bring the trophy to the Ghana and take it round the whole nation from 24th September for about two to three days to motivate every individual in order to whip up enthusiasm and spirit for the game of African soccer.

He appealed to the public to participate in the promotion to help raise funds to support the Black Stars.

Mr. Alhassan Andani, however urged all Ghanaians to go to the stadium on Sunday as the Black Stars come up against Sudan for the qualifying match and cheer them on to victory.
