Veep honoured for exemplary leadership
Vice President John Dramani Mahama has been acknowledged by the Global Leadership Training International (GLTI) headquartered in New York , U.S.A, for the steeling and orderly manner in which he has carried himself as the Vice President.
Rev. Gregg Johnson, President /Founder of GLTI, noted that the honour bestowed on the Vice President comes in the heels of his leadership qualities in integrity and dedication to society.
In a citation accompanying the award, the Vice President Mahama was acknowledged for his affability, peaceful nature and impeccable character.
The citation also described him as simple and someone with excellent leadership qualities, particularly during his days as a Member of Parliament.
“In this age, there is the need for leaders to adopt attitudes and traits of Christ towards the fight against corruption,” the Vice President noted.
He encouraged the church to partner with government in ridding society of anti-social behaviours and corruption.
He reiterated the NDC government’s determination to build a society that upholds high the tenets of character, integrity and fairness.
He also lauded GLTI for the course contents of their conferences which included subjects that address the canker of corruption.
However, Rev. Johnson commended Ghana for showing the way to good democratic governance and the pursuance of peace in troubled spots in the world. He remarked,” Ghana from the days of Kwame Nkrumah has proven that she has leadership in her DNA’’
He added that Ghana does not need revival but leaders of integrity to manage the revival. He revealed that two things needed to stem the canker of corruption is the institution of accountable structures and leaders who possess hearts of integrity.
Among those who were honoured with the Vice President included: Rev. Ernest Kwadwo Adjei (Senior Pastor of Ringway Assemblies of God Osu – Pastoral Excellence Award), Mr. William Ampem-Darko (Director-General, G.B.C.– Global Corporate Award of Excellence), Rev. Stephen Wengam (Award for Significant Achievement), Bishop S. N. Mensah (Apostolic Excellence Award).
The others were Apostle Dr Opoku Onyinah (Chairman of the Church of Pentecost – Apostolic Excellence Award), Rev. Mrs. Sussie Lamptey (Global Family Life Award), Citi FM (Missions Excellence Award).
