The Gbawe Manste, Nii Adam Kwatei Quartey and the people of Gbawe Traditional Area, have pledged to support the Ga South Municipal Assembly in its quest to ensure accelerated development and growth.
Gbawe Traditional Area is one of the traditional areas within the Ga South Municipal Assembly with its capital Weija.
Welcoming the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Sheriff Nii Otto Dodoo and his entourage to the Palace, the Gbawe Manste, Nii Adam Kwatei Quartey represented by one of the Principal Elders, Nii Kpakpa Achimota thanked the MCE for recognizing the importance of traditional leaders in the Assembly.
Nii pointed out that, ignoring Traditional leaders in policy and decision making hinders the progress and development of the people.
He stressed that, Traditional leaders are custodians of the land and need not to be sidelined in developmental decisions.
In this regard, he called on the MCE to consult and involve traditional leaders in issues relating to the development and growth of Ga South.
Nii Kpakpa Achimota also advised the MCE to work in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Municipal Assembly to ensure transparency and fairness.
On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive, Sheriff Nii Otto Dodoo equally thanked the Traditional leaders for their intention to be loyal to the Assembly as well as the opportunity given to him to interact and discuss the development and welfare of the Assembly.
According to him, for the Assembly to develop, there is the need to involve traditional and opinion leaders since “Traditional and Opinion leaders are always in touch with their people, therefore, are abreast of the problems undermining the development and welfare of the area.”
Hon. Sheriff Nii Otto Dodoo indicated that, the Assembly is assiduously strategizing policies and plans to fulfill President Atta Mills promise, a better Ghana for all.
Stressing that, the Assembly will not sideline any Traditional leaders within the Ga South Municipal adding that “Everybody is a stake holder in the development and growth of the Assembly.”
He also assured them of his readiness to be a listening leader to their advise and directives any time they call upon him and when the need arises.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Sheriff Nii Otto Dodoo was accompanied by Assemblyman of the area who doubles up to be the Presiding Member of the Assembly, Honourable David Nii Abossey Braide.
