By Evelyn Osafo

One of the leading names in the automobile industry, PHC motors, has donated a vehicle at a cost of US $23,000 to the Ghana Police Service at Police Headquarters in Accra on Tuesday.

According to Mr Paul Pepera, the Managing Director of PHC motors, the main motive behind the donation is to help the police to be efficiently resourced to fight against crime in the country.

Mr Pepera cited that PHC motors is very much aware of the recent upsurge in crime the country hence the need to support the Police Service.

Mr Pepera commended the police for their tireless efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the country. He then cautioned the Police not to lose their guard but encouraged them to continue rendering qualitative services to Ghanaians.

“There is no investment without the existence of peace and order in a country and Iam very proud to be able to support the police and would be happy if crime is reduced,” he said.

DSP Kwesi Fori, the Public Relations Officer of Ghana Police Service, gave the assurance that the police will not waiver in its determination to deliver good services to the good people of this country.

“We the Ghana Police are making every effort to fight crime,” he assured.

He therefore called on the general public, especially the rich in the society to also emulate what PHC has done for them.

He reiterated that accommodation still continues to be a major challenge to the Service and thus they will welcome any move by anybody to support them in this respect.
